Today, 127 Clubs in 40 cities of Kazakhstan with a total number of more than 7,000 active members are successfully operating throughout the country. The organization implements major youth programmes in three main areas: creative education, cultural heritage and sustainable development.
The new cycle of “The Planet of ART – 2019” is dedicated to the Year of Youth in Kazakhstan and to the promotion of the “Ruhani Zhangiru” state program. The Festival-contest will be organized for the most talented participants aged 12-17 years in the nominations of vocal, instrumental music choreography.
The project supports gifted young performers to discover their creative potential and popularize the cultural diversity by demonstrating children's art of Central Asia and Russia. Due to the scale and international coverage, more than 3,500 children, regardless of their social status, including children from the remote regions and rural areas from all regions of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries on a completely free basis, have equal chances to demonstrate their talents and subsequent work with leading artists of Kazakhstan.
The International Festival under the auspices of UNESCO “The Planet of ART” was originated in 1999 under the name “Children are painting the World”. During the last 20 years, it is expanded its frames several times from national to sub-regional Central Asia and regional Asia-Pacific levels. More than 35 000 young artists took part in the Festival expressing their vision of the World through children’s art.
In 2015 on the basis of this Festival was initiated another programme for talented youth in vocal, instrumental music and choreography named “Children in the Rhythm of the World”. In 2018, Festivals “Children are painting the World. Asia” and “Children in the Rhythm of the World” were re-branded and united into one flagship programme – International Festival under the auspices of UNESCO “The Planet of ART”, thus allowing to cover on an annual basis the most gifted children and youth in different arts. It is very symbolic that the album of the artists’ cycle was opened by the forewords of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev and the UNESCO Director General Ms. Audrey Azoulay.
According to organizers of the Festival, “The Planet of ART – 2019” encourages all forms of cultural expression, promotes intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding, and strengthens friendly ties between young performers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. As a result of the last cycle, the finalists were honored to show their talents at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris and proudly represented our country on the international scene. Seeing great happiness in the eyes of the children, we were inspired to prepare to this year’s winners in each nomination a uniquely rich program and exclusive gifts with the support of our partners.
The project is organized with the wide support of Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akimat of Almaty city, National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO, UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty for Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Asian Pacific Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations and other private companies.
On September 21, the finalists will be invited to the Grand-final in Almaty (Kazakhstan) to attend an educational and cultural program, where they will have a unique opportunity to take part in a series of interactive trainings and master classes from well-known experts and outstanding artists of Kazakhstan and to plunge into the international atmosphere of creativity and culture of peace. As the culmination of “The Planet of ART - 2019” will be a Gala concert, which will be held on September 28, accompanied by Symphony Orchestra of the Mayor of conducted by Alexander Belyakov – Honored Worker of Kazakhstan. The luckiest winners in the three nominations will be awarded the general prize – trip to the cultural and educational program to the United States and European countries.
