Human Rights texts translated into local languages

21 July 2003

Human rights training materials are now being translated into Kyrgyz, Tajik and Kazakh languages. The materials include the Convention of the Rights of the Child (CRC) and participatory exercises on human rights and tolerance. With already translated Kazakh, Kyrgyz and Tajik versions of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), these materials will be used by the youth trainers who received an intensive "training for trainers" on human rights and democracy in respective countries. It is expected that these new documents will further raise awareness on human rights among their communities and the wider general public in Central Asia.
