Experts from four Central Asia countries and the Russian Federation are gathering in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic to discuss the legal regulation of labour migration in the region. The two-day international conference take place on 24-25 November 2006.The Expert Council for labour migration in Central Asia and The Russian Federation is organized under the auspices of the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia. The UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office for Kazakhstan, The Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan is collaborating on the meeting, which brings together governmental officials, international organizations, NGOs and independent experts on migration from the region to review and discuss current legislative mechanisms governing labour migration.
The Expert Council will draft recommendations aimed at harmonizing existing labour migration legislation in Kazakhstan, The Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.
