Aral Sea and the Aral Sea region

The general water development in the Central Asian region was the reason behind the impossibility to restore the Aral Sea in its biologically active form and to initial volumes. This publication contains the materials of case studies conducted by the Scientific-Information Center of the Interstate Coordination Water Commission of Central Asia together with partners from the Netherlands, Belgium and Russia.
